My Story, My Awakening, and the Quiet Revolution Within
Welcome, love.
I’m so grateful you’re here.
I created The Gentle Path as a space for all of us learning how to walk through life more tenderly — with more presence, softness, clarity, and truth. If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’ve lived through something — maybe many things. You’ve likely been burned out, cracked open, misunderstood, or reshaped by grief, illness, trauma, parenting, or spiritual awakening.
I have too.
My name is Jennifer de Chickera. I’m a global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Engagement leader in corporate life, a single mum to a neurodivergent daughter, a two-time cancer survivor, and a sensitive, creative, soul-led woman who spent years trying to fit into a world that wasn’t built for someone like me.
The Path That Found Me
My life changed when I was diagnosed with cancer. Twice. The second time, I was told it was incurable. But I’m still here.
That experience cracked me open in every way — physically, emotionally, spiritually. It wasn’t just about healing my body. It was about reclaiming myself. I began doing deep trauma work, energy healing, nervous system repair. I found my way into frequency medicine, the work of Dr. Joe Dispenza, feminine archetypes, embodiment, breathwork, and sound. I remembered I was more than a body. More than a job. More than my roles.
I woke up — slowly, and then all at once.
And as I did, I began to feel everything I’d buried for years. Sensitivity. Power. Desire. Grief. Joy. Creativity. Wildness. The parts of me I’d dulled to survive — especially in corporate and cultural systems that rewarded performance over presence — came rushing back.
From Survival to Soul-Led Living
I’ve spent the past few years learning how to integrate it all.

To show up at work — in boardrooms and on global stages — without abandoning my inner world.
To lead with both strength and softness.
To honour the divine feminine and activate the sacred masculine within me.
To raise my daughter with presence, while navigating my own neurodivergence and overstimulation.
To create again — art, words, life — from a place that feels like home.
And I’m still learning.
What This Space Is For
The Gentle Path is not a blog about healing from illness. It’s a space about becoming whole – after illness, after trauma, after the breakdown, after the burnout.
Here, I’ll share:
- Soul reflections on healing, softness, power, and self-leadership
- Personal essays on parenting, sensitivity, neurodivergence, and intuition
- Energy practices, rituals, and nervous system tools that have supported me
- Thoughts on leading with heart in masculine systems
- And eventually… my intuitive artwork, which I’ve just started to bring into form
Resilience Doesn’t Have to Hurt
For a long time, I thought resilience meant striving. Proving. Pushing. Performing. Fitting in. Being perfect.
I now know that true resilience doesn’t come from resistance — it comes from presence. From being connected to your energy, your truth, your body, your needs. From letting go of the masks and finally allowing yourself to show up.
I’m still navigating this.

I’m still learning how to hold a full-time corporate role, parent solo, build a relationship, care for my well-being, write this blog, start my art practice, tend to my spirit, and still have a social life.
But I believe it’s possible.
I believe we can do it all — but not in the way we were taught.
Not by abandoning ourselves.
But by being deeply, radically, authentically ourselves.
Connection Is the Medicine
One of the deepest truths I’ve come to realise is that we were never meant to do this alone.
We’re living in a world that glorifies independence, perfectionism, and productivity — but it’s making us sick. Disconnected. Exhausted. Spiritually starved.
We are meant to be connected.
To share our truth, to show up in our wholeness, to hold space for one another’s mess, magic, and becoming.

That’s what The Gentle Path is here to offer. Not just a blog — a place to return to yourself.
A community of like-hearted souls who are tired of hiding the pieces of themselves that don’t fit the old mould.
A bridge back to truth. To softness. To belonging.
You don’t need to earn your place here.
You already belong.
Coming Soon: Art for the Soul
Art has always been part of me — something I’ve longed to share. I’ve started painting again and enrolled in an art course to deepen my intuitive practice alongside traditional techniques.
I’ll be creating a Soulful Art Collection — visual stories and energy-infused pieces that explore archetypes, spirit animals, wildness, and inner integration.

It’s coming slowly. Gently. But it’s coming. And when it does, it will be part of this path too.
If You’ve Made It This Far…
Thank you.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for being here. Thank you for choosing your own gentle path, whatever it looks like.
This is for the ones trying to do it all — and starting to realise they don’t have to do it alone, or the way they were taught.
This is for those who want to live fully, love deeply, lead authentically, parent consciously, create, honour their bodies, and build lives that feel like truth.
We rise gently here.
We rise connected.
We rise whole.
With love,
Jen
